How about riding in Colombia?

During my backpacker days in South America, Colombia was definitely a “no go” area, swarming with drug cartels who kidnapped gringos by the dozen. Now it is top of the list for "gappies" - and with good reason. It is safe and friendly, there are many beautiful colonial cities, great beaches, and fascinating national parks. Riding is a super way to explore some of this vibrant and welcoming country and our 10 day program takes you to two distinct areas. Starting in the coffee plantations, you’ll ride past banana farms, jungle, waterfalls and colourful villages, before transferring to the highlands north of Bogota to explore a totally different area, reaching remote valleys, highlands and colonial haciendas.
You also visit one of the countries top breeders of the Paso Fino horse - here is a short video of me trying out one of their wonderfully trained mares - can you count the steps?!
