Morocco: Auberge & Guesthouse

7 night place-to-place rides, staying in local guesthouse and hotels. Varying locations in Morocco. Suitable for intermediate riders and above.

Where is it?

Operating out of a 2 bases, one near Marrakesh and one near Ouarzazate, rides explore different areas, including the foothills of the high Atlas, the Atlantic Coast and the northern edge of the Sahara Desert.

What is it like?

A short flight from the UK but with a real feeling of the exotic – and sunshine for most of the year – Morocco is a great destination for the avid traveller, with a distinct culture, rich history and huge variety of landscapes. Itineraries explore distinct areas, including the foothills of the high Atlas, the Atlantic Coast and the northern edge of the Sahara Desert. Routes are progressive, riding to a new location each day, with nights spent in local guesthouses and hotels. Another option is to stay at the comfortable base close to Marrakech where riding is just one of the activities on offer (please enquire for information about Terres d’Amanar).

Who does it suit?

Confident, independent riders who want concentrated riding but prefer a guesthouse or small hotel base at night. Most itineraries are fairly strenuous and particularly on the rides in the desert and along the Atlantic coast, there are opportunities for long, fast canters. The horses are strong, sure-footed and with excellent stamina. They are responsive and forward going to ride and there is a good selection for riders of intermediate ability and above.

Why we love it

Routes are progressive, riding to a new location each day, with nights spent in local guesthouses and hotels – a fantastic way to explore the land and meet the fantastically friendly locals!
